K9 Youth Alliance Graduation Ceremony

One of the highlights of this month was receiving an email from K9 Youth Alliance, a LA-based non-profit organization that teaches kids how to care for and train shelter dogs using positive reinforcement. Each program runs for three weeks and they use Doggie Language !!! The students are also given copies when they graduate!

I had the honor of attending their recent graduation ceremony at North Central Shelter. I was so impressed with the kids and their dogs! Please check out the work they do, support them, and tell your friends that these dogs are ready for their forever homes!

Dogs of the World in Chinese!

Aug 13: Dogs of the World is getting a Traditional Chinese edition this month and can I just say how much I love the title in Chinese? MUSEUM OF THE DOG UNIVERSE!!!! When we visited Taipei last year, I met up with Oak Tree Publishers and I did an interview about the book which you can view HERE (instagram).

Bark! Fest 2026: Register now

Sep 15: A little reminder that I will be chatting about dogs with Melissa Mc-Cue McGrath and Kerry Nichols during this year's Bark!Fest, an online book festival for animal lovers. Register here!

For Young Readers

Sep 22: The two board books for young readers that I wrote and illustrated last year will be released into the world! 10 HAPPY DOGS is a colorful and lively counting book and ABC DOGS is an alphabet book featuring 26 doggies from Dogs of the World. Both are published by Ten Speed Young Readers. Do you know any young children or friends/family with young children? Mahjong-related

My limited print run (100 copies) of Mahjong Styles is almost ALL SOLD OUT though you may still be able to pick up a copy at The Pop-Hop. I am so grateful for all your support!!! My Mahjong items are now also available offline at the following locations.

San Francisco: pick up my pins and stickers at On Waverley
Pasadena: pick up some prints and stickers from Tail Town Cat Cafe. (after 8/15)

Current Projects

I am collaborating on a brand new project with bestselling author and detection-dog trainer, Cat Warren. More on this later!
I am writing and illustrating two new picture books featuring lots of cats: 10 SLEEPY CATS and Z is FOR ZOOMIES.
In my spare time, I am working on a new zine. If you can read Chinese characters, let me know if you are interested in helping me proofread. :)
