More Cool Stuff

A gallery of various illustration projects past and present.

Yokai Parade

Yokai Parade is a collaboration between Lili Chin, Linda Lombardi, and Zack Davisson. Together we have created unique, fun, and modern interpretations of yokai (Japanese folklore) characters, available as enamel pins, cards, prints, comics, and apparel.

Yokai Parade has appeared at various events including Emerald City Comic Con, Kaiju Con L.A., PinPalPalooza at Gallery Nucleus, and the Yokai Neighbors group show at AG Gallery, Brooklyn. Our comic strip, AMABIE, has been published in Covid Chronicles: Comics Anthology. (Graphic Mundi, 2021)

Wrestlers

I worked in the 2D animation industry from 1997-2008 and was co-owner of Fwak! Animation in Sydney.  In 2000, my animation partner Eddie Mort and I co-created an animated series - Mucha Lucha that was inspired by our love of Lucha Libre. We followed this up with the feature-length Los Campeones De La Lucha Libre (2008, AztecaCine, Mexico.) After leaving behind the animation industry to explore new directions, the world of wrestlers and monsters continues to be an inspiration.

From top to bottom: Legends of Japanese Wrestling: Bull Nakano, Manami Toyota, and Hokuto Akita (2014), inspired by the movie The Calamari Wrestler; Arriba Los Rudos (2005) t-shirt designs

Illustrated Recipes

I used to make a lot of ice cream, and recorded my experiments in my ice cream recipe blog - We All Scream (2013). I also participated in local L.A. food wwap events with my homemade ice creams, and my blog appeared in Saveur.com and TheKitchn.com.  My hobby led to some food-related art commissions.

Red Ape Ballet

A series of illustrations created for the Planet of the Apes group show at Creature Features Gallery, 2014. Signed and numbered limited edition prints are available.
