Mambo and Shimmy
[Posted in 2021, with edits]
Meet Mambo and Shimmy, whom we adopted on January 16th, 2021 from Sante D'Or Rescue. They are about 4 years old and BFFs. Bonded, preferred associates.
I am still heartbroken over the death of my dog, Boogie, and I still miss him deeply everyday. Jamie Anderson’s quote about grief being “love with no place to go” feels very true, and though I am not yet ready to adopt another dog, these cats are warming my heart, bringing new learning adventures, and I love them so much. Many apologies to all the hardcore dog-only people that my instagram feed will be full of cat photos from now on...
Who are these kitties?
We don't know much about their past. Mambo's and Shimmy's previous human passed away suddenly, which is how they ended up at the rescue, shyly huddled together in their cage for months. We don't know if they may have been street cats at some point, or even siblings. They are both shy/skittish kitties who hide when new people appear. Mambo is a black fluffy cat with a tipped right ear; Shimmy is a petite kitten-sized gray and white tuxedo cat who is attached to Mambo. (In their previous home, Mambo's name was Eva, and Shimmy was "The Boy"! At the rescue they were renamed Huey and Starlight.)
They are very bonded but have very different personalities!
