Reinforcement Systems (Notes from VT Part 1)

Lili Chin

Three years ago, when I was struggling to train Shimmy to go inside her carrier for future vet visits, I enrolled in Mary Hunter's Shaping Skills workshop (recommended!) I am embarrassed to say I didn't complete the course because I think a vet visit happened and I became discouraged, or perhaps life and work got in the way.

So when I saw that this topic was on the schedule of the Animal Training Retreat in Brattleboro VT last month, I was thrilled. There were also many other wonderful presentations.

I am sharing my handwritten notes on this blog, this being Part 1.

Unfortunately my iPad ran out of battery on the 2nd day so I had to fill in the gaps by referring to video recordings (which I believe can be purchased by people who didn't attend the retreat).  I was also able to tidy up my handwriting and rough sketches a little bit.
