Notes from Joe Layng’s presentation, CAAWT 2021 conference, on Superimposition and Coercion.

Updated 1/22/2022 - What does FREEDOM mean?

Below are notes I made reading this paper by Fernandes & Dittrich which covers Goldiamond's expansion of the meaning of "Freedom" and Genuine Choices.

The quadrants or consequences (R+, R-, P+, P-) are not enough for defining a coercive situation. What makes a situation coercive is when an individual does not have enough ways to get critical needs met.

ETHICS: What degrees and types of coercion do we tolerate? What safeguards or protections can we create against abuse?
