Thank you, Sarah for the pawesome write-up!

I like Lili’s portraits because they’re stylized, yet pretty spot on in terms of resemblance. She captures her subjects’ personalities and highlights their unique features. And her professional experience shows in her great sense of composition and color.

It’s not often that I google myself or am up to date on who is linking to my work. Today I learned that I’m on one of my favorite blogs - Apartment Therapy!

Lili Chin is an illustrator and animator out of Los Angeles who spends a great deal of time working with animals and their perfect portraiture that captures the subtle personalities in each one. Lili works hand in hand with many rescue organizations and often times proceeds go to help fund their efforts.

Thank you so much to all these cool bloggers who have linked to my Doggie Drawings site :)

The PHETCHED blog - Thank you, Katherine! Phetched is my favorite “cool doggie products” blog.

“Chin’s drawings are so cute they make my face hurt. But in a good way.”

NERDSQUARED blog - Anna has a blue-eyed bostie too :)

“so i was doin a little searchin’ on flickr yesterday and came accross this super talented lady Lili Chin. I fell in love with her art right away not only cuz she draws cartoons of boston terriers (ok that may be a big reason) but she does it with a nice modern retro touch.”

Thank you to everyone for your generous donations and patience as I work my way through a growing list of doggies to draw. Thank you especially to those of you who are spreading the word about my fundraiser project on forums and blogs - I really really appreciate it!

Here is some nice feedback from Kat (mother to Dobby the Frenchie, and Cookie the BT, as pictured below)-

“Lili is super nice, and very quick with her work, you’ll be
amazed. She always captures the expressions & personalities of the
dogs SO perfectly! I’ve attached the drawing she did for Cookie &
Dobby, as well as some of their pictures that inspired the drawing.
It’s now framed up on our wall and makes us smile everytime we look at it. :)”

I also received some lovely feedback from Chris, (Angel’s mom) on the WOOF forum. Below is a photo of my framed drawing of her doggies, which is so cool to see!

… And from Melissa:

“Here is a picture of my tattoo, inspired by your fabulous drawing of Duke and Daisy.  It’s pretty fresh, I’ll send you a better picture once it is healed up.”

These photos make me smile. :)

DONATIONS UPDATE

I recently sent off a $800 check to BostonBuddies for the care of Hope, a Special Needs girl whom you can read about HERE. I will continue to send checks to BostonBuddies at the end of each month on your behalf. In only 3 months, we have raised approximately $3000 in donations - which blows my mind! I feel so good about this!

Some of you have asked: How long will this fundraiser project go on for?

Ideally, I would like to keep doing these drawings for as long as there is interest in them.

What started off as a “side hobby-project” has now become something that I do every day and night so… a slight change of plans… From August 2008 onwards, I will be donating 20 -50% of proceeds (instead of 80%) to BostonBuddies Rescue.

I also want to add that if you prefer me to donate to a different pet rescue group or charity (e.g., French Bulldog Rescue, if you have Frenchies or a mixed-breed rescue…), I am open to this. Please let me know.

Thank you for your continued support in this fundraiser.

If you are going to be at the Boston Tea Party on Sept 20th, I look forward to meeting you and your dogs!
